AP Test Information: April 26, 2022
Dear AP Students and Families,
We hope this email finds you all well. You are receiving this electronic mail because y'all are scheduled to take i or more than College Board AP exams between May three and May 20, 2022, and we wanted to provide some important logistical information for you.
There will be a separate email sent on Friday, April 29, with specifics on Room #s and testing times for each test.
Timing of Exams
Forenoon exams begin promptly at 8am. Afternoon exams begin promptly at 12pm. For specifics on the length and dates of each exam, please click here: Length of AP Exams 2022 Students approved for College Lath accommodations are tested in a separate location following the guidelines of their accommodations, which may include extended fourth dimension for certain sections of the exam.
Per College Board policy, students cannot join exams already in progress. Students taking morning exams should arrive at school no later than vii:15am. LaGuardia does not supply students with pencils, pens, or calculators. Please come up prepared. Mechanical pencils cannot be used during AP Exams, per College Lath policy.
Other Helpful Information
Classes are in session during AP Exams. Students are expected to attend classes every twenty-four hour period, with the exception of the fourth dimension they are taking their AP exam.
Students taking AP exams will miss some classes on the days of their exams. Students are responsible for any missed piece of work. Teachers are notified who is taking each exam. Students are marked absent by their regular classroom teacher, and absences will be coded correctly by the Attendance Office later on the exam.
While students are expected to attend classes after a morn exam, and attend classes before an afternoon exam, we understand that some families may choose to take their students dismissed after a morning examination, or go far after for an afternoon examination, and be absent for classes. Students will only exist permitted to be dismissed early or enter belatedly with the attached AP Examination Day form, signed by a parent/guardian. The pupil must submit the form equally they enter/go out the edifice. Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month Showcase Submissions Accepted Through 4/29/22
May is Asian American Pacific Islander or for short, AAPI Heritage Month. In the spirit of AAPI Heritage Month, LaGuardia is having an AAPI Showcase. The showcase will broadcast positive AAPI Pride within the LaGuardia community. The showcase will incorporate submissions of all forms of fine art that expresses the beauty of AAPI cultures.

Dearest Families,

Course Programming Information for 2022 - 2023
Dear LaGuardia families,
Information technology is hard to believe that Leap Break is upon us in less than 2 weeks. It seems similar a curt while ago we were making preparations to brainstorm the school year planning all in-person instruction.
When nosotros render from Spring Interruption, the process for requesting classes for adjacent year begins. Each twelvemonth, LaGuardia participates in an internal process where we evaluate how successful nosotros were in the various parts of student scheduling and college and career planning. Nosotros have made a few changes that will result in an improved overall experience for families and staff. Specifically, we are taking the time to have multiple academic planning activities with students throughout the coming weeks to help students understand their options. Below is a timeline of key events that lead upwards to the cosmos of the Master Schedule and individual educatee and teacher schedules over the summer.
March 15, 2022
All teachers were invited to submit course proposals for new courses to be added/modified for adjacent school year. This annual procedure allows for LaGuardia to offer courses specifically to educatee interest and teacher expertise.
March 23, 2022
ninth grade students received an overview of the programming process as role of their post-secondary workshop.
April 11, 2022
The 2022-2023 Course Catalog becomes live. The Grade Catalog is an online, comprehensive list of all courses that are accepting student requests for the 2022-2023 Schoolhouse Twelvemonth.
April eleven - 13, 2022
In arts studio courses, students will review the four year sequence and options for completing their arts studio studies. Where students take a choice, each arts studio will share the process for collecting the information from students most requests/plans for next year's arts studio classes.
April 25 - 29, 2022
In academic courses, students volition review the diverse options as the next course in the sequence. An example of this would be Algebra I students would larn about Geometry. Another example is Global History & Geography iii & 4 students would learn about Advanced Placement U.s.a. History 1 & 2 and Us History & Government ane & 2 courses. Senior Activities Annunciation 2022
It is with great excitement that we announce - for the first time since the COVID-19 Pandemic began - we are able to concord both the LaGuardia Senior Prom and Graduation, in-person, in venues that will support the unabridged graduating class and their guests. Our Senior Grade Student Government representatives have done an amazing job in the planning procedure.
Please remember that all information, especially regarding COVID-19 Condom Protocols, is current at the time of this electronic mail. We will continue to communicate whatever updates and changes as they become available.
The current requirement is that all students and their guests to both Prom and Graduation must exist fully vaccinated.

Prom is a rite-of-passage, formal dinner dance celebration for Seniors. It is mutual for students to come past themselves, with a date, or in groups. Required DOE Notification
Per NYCDOE policy, loftier school students must run across graduation requirements to participate in their school's graduation anniversary. Students who have not yet met graduation requirements at the time of the ceremony may not participate in the ceremony. DOE Family unit Letter re. Illuminate Teaching
Dear Families,
I am writing to provide you with an update concerning a data security incident that involves an online educational vendor that many New York City Department of Education (DOE) schools use: Illuminate Education.
As yous may take seen in the news or heard from your child'south school, Illuminate Educational activity products (such as IO Classroom, Skedula, and PupilPath) were offline for a time in January 2022 due to a security incident. Since so, Illuminate has been conducting an investigation to determine whether any students' personally identifiable information was accessed equally a result of this incident. On March 25, Illuminate notified the DOE that its investigation was complete, and that some students' personally identifiable information was accessed by someone without dominance.
We are outraged virtually this breach, and we will do everything possible to protect educatee data going frontwards and to provide further data to families afflicted by this breach.
We are waiting for Illuminate to provide us with more details from their investigation, including which student records were accessed past the unauthorized user. Illuminate has shared the following information with us:

oSpecial pedagogy information, specifically whether your student has an Individualized Education Plan.
oOther sensitive information, such as whether your student receives gratis lunch.
·No copies of pupil IEPs were impacted.
·No family or educatee financial information or social security numbers were accessed.
